Driver's Backrest
 

I bought a driver's backrest from Firehouse Customs. It was for my 09 Heritage. The bracket that came would not work with the passenger pillion. I called, and they discovered that the passenger pillion was changed in 09, and that they would have to make a new design and send me a new bracket. This was in October, and now I get an email saying they are closing. No new bracket, no way to use what I paid for.

Does anyone know of another vendor that makes a driver's backrest?

That sucks, I was planning to get one of these. I've only seen Firehouse for OE Softail seats. There may be others but none I have seen.

I got one for my 09 Heritage and it worked fine what bracket did he send you?

My backrest will fit when I am riding solo without the passenger pillion. If you put the passenger seat on, the bracket won't go on as it hits the pillion in the wrong places. Yours works with the seat on?

Mine works just fine I don't understand why yours don't where does it hit the passenger pillion at ? Now when I put mine on I took the passenger pillion off then put the back rest on and put the passenger pillion on have you tried that?

Get a mustang seat with a backrest. High dollar item, but you get what you pay for.

oh well, i've just ordered and payed by paypal for a backrest for my fatboy. ive now emailed them to see if they are still trading or not f*ck it, should'nt of waited.

Yes, even when you take off the rear seat, and then put on the backrest, you can't put the rear seat back on. You would have to squish it something fierce to even get close to the holes lining up. I don't know how yours and mine are different. I am so pissed at them right now.

I had the same kind of problem when I bought mine and tried to fit it on. No matter what I tried on my 09 heritage it would not fit. I finally gave up and in my frustration took a hammer to where the back rest would screw down and bent the T bar on the back rest to fit. ( I know I should have used some finesse in bending it, but oh well the hammer worked) now the back rest fits on it just fine now even if it is a bit snug.
Not sure if that helps you at all but worked for me.
