Hi all, attached are a couple of snaps of the new Grommets that I ordered for the under Seat Cover for my Rocker C. With Dragon Slayers Help, he provided me with the part number, thanks again. When they arrived they were a little different. They still fit, however they are about three times as high. I have attached a pic of the new gromet and a pic of the old grommet. My Rocker C is an '08, is it possible the height of the Grommet was changed from the '08 model to the '09 or '10 models?? They fit alright and seem to work fine and while the opening on top is larger than my original grommet opening the new ones do narrow to secure the pins from seat to hold it in position.
Hoping some input from you guys will convince me I surely have the correct part #11669 HD PHD Grommet.

In the Pics the Taller Grommet is the New one just ordered and the Flatter Grommet is the OLD OEM Grommet.
Guess my question is, Is what I received an updated grommet for this application or did I order the wrong item??

Hey Newfie! I have the 2008 HD Softail Parts Manual in front of me and the Grommets for the Rocker C seat and the Rocker seat have the same part # 11669. Two things could have happened as you already mentioned, 1) they sent you the wrong part, even though you gave them the right part number, or 2) the part has changed since it came out in 2008.

I don't think they sent me the wrong part as I ordered 4 and they come individually sealed in a celophane bag with the p/n 11669 stamped right on it. I think the part may have changed so I am hoping someone with an '09 or '10 Rocker C can lift their seat and tell me which Grommet is the mate for the Seat Pins. That I believe would eliminate a possibility.
When I ordered the Grommets from the stealer I gave them the p/n 11669 they told me that the computer then changed that p/n to another number and then it reconverted back to 11669......he said he couldn't explain it

my 09 has the longer ones

 

The old style (short ones) were dropped well over a year ago. The only rockers that had that style were the 08s.
