I know there are numerous threads but I can't find the answer. I just changed the oil in all 3 holes on a jack lift. This is my 1st time doing my own service. I did not close the derby cover and set the bike on the jiffy stand. and few ounces of oil spilled out. don't know how much. Is this a concern? What should the level be. can it be checked on the jiffy stand or only on a lift. I put in 1 quart as per the manual. how far below the opening should the oil be if it needs to be on the jack. Also I am in NJ and it is very cold. i rode the bike about 20 min to warm the fluid a bit. after I drained all the fluids i adjusted the clutch as per the manual but is says to do this at room temperture not on a hot bike. by the time I did this the air temp must have been 30 in my garage. Will this effect the adjustment?

 

The oil should be just above the bottom of the clutch plates. Looks like about half inch or so. If you are really concerned, no big deal draining and starting over.

 

i would say there would be some still in it after the drain so a few oz that fell out should not matter.
