Smooth Rear Fender Options?

I want to clean up my rear fender. Maybe get a recessed taillight or Cat Eye taillight and a side mount plate. Or maybe just a side mount plate with a taillight. Anyway, what's my best (cost effective) option. Having mine welded up, or picking one up from somewhere like Klock Werks. Either way I have to paint it.

thanks,

I just had my rear fender extended 4 1/2 inches and front extended 2 1/2 inches with both being smoothed out. The guy charged me $100.00 total! I still have to have them painted though.

I am going with a side mount plate that is built into your primary inspection cover. Not sure what I am doing with turn signals just yet, maybe Alloy Arts???

i cleaned my up for under 40.
i could do away with the tail lamp as the side lights are working as stop and just add led strip in clear to the top of the tag frame to light the tag. or take the 2 holes in the fender and add post led to shine on the tag.
the inspection has been moved so just the tag is shown and is flat.

I got a stock deluxe fender... and had it smoothed and shaved total cost with paint was about $350... Klockwerks is nice if I didn't get such a good deal on the deluxe fender I would have went with there extended one. Even tried to order one at the time but they were out of stock?

That looks sick! Wow. Might have to think about something like that for my softail.

thanks,

I too was looking at the Klock Werks fender. I emailed them about a fit issue and Brian Klock called me and talked for about 10 mintues on it. I plan on either going with them or shaving it down/ filling it in like story.

I've heard good things from Klock Werks. I would consider sending my fenders to them for modification or getting their stretched rear and having my front stretched a few inches. I just want to maintain the flare on the tip of both fenders.

It took my back that he called. When I looked at my cell I almost ignored it as I don't know anyone in South Dakota. After talking to him I felt better and would order it from him. I think Dr. V-Twin was right on when he spoke of customer service.

This is what I'm working on, actually its been in the works for a few months, just got back to the project. I actually matched the length to a set of bags I stretched 5". The fender is stretched about 6". Plan is to use LED bolts to light the plate. I am putting lights in the bags.
