Fatcat's on softails thread
 

I only know one person locally who has a fatcat on their softail. It is my friend Ben's wife's bike actually. I think it looks great. But what I really want to know is what kind of power increase did you get? Was it noticeable? Did you get it dynoed before and after? Is it worth it to shell out a bit of cash for one? I always scrape my pipes where I ride anyway, so I know it will scrape with my riding style, that is not a problem for me. What do you fatcat owners think? Here is a pic of Ben's Wife's bike which I posted a while back. I talk to D&D all the time and am aware of their claims, but am seeking the real truth. And, how does it sound? I've had mine installed for about a year now. Still running the stock air cleaner and no tuning. Before the pipe install I found myself downshifting a good bit with regards to 6th gear. After the install the bike seems to have more torque. 60mph used to be the magic number for hitting 6th gear. Now I can go as low as 50-55 w/o feeling the bike start to chug a bit. I normally keep the magic number at 60mph though.
It was such a big improvement just with the exhaust change that I feel i could pass the blind fold test if riding stock vs Fat Cat.
I also went with the pipe recommended for the Heritage simply because it comes back a few inches farther than the stock softail version. With the Harley's Goodies extensions my floorboards hit before the pipe unless your into a sharp turn and hit a good size bump. I have yet to scrape mine.

I've been running a Fatcat with standard (louvered) baffle for about a year now. I can't say exactley how many HP/TQ I picked up, because I added it at the same time I added Baisley headwork and different cams (I've been through a lot of combos on this bike). I can tell you this- I've very happy with the pipe. I was totally against a 2-1 (Had Big Radius before Fatcat). But, when I saw how much power I was leaving on the table, I changed my mind.

I'm in the same boat. I just added the Fatcat but also did quite a bit of motorwork. Haven't did the final tune yet so I don't know numbers yet. I went with the performance baffle because that what my engine guy recommended. I know it sounds great. I always liked 2 into 2 exhaust but after seeing this pipe on my bike, hearing it, and feeling it, I know it was the right decision. It's been raining and more if forcasted. When it clears I'll try to get some pics up.

According to D&D the performance baffle is only for bike that are 107" and bigger, at least that is what Leonard at D&D told me. Can't wait to see some pics of that fatcat on there as I ride a Fatboy too. All this is really making me want to make one more exhaust swap.

Can anyone post a picture of the longer version of the fatcat ? I saw some one post about a longer version of the muffler for the FLSTC.

HarleyHeaven had posts in an earlier thread about this subject. Leonard suggested the performance baffle because his build was done by T-Man....and he puts out some monster builds (even for ONLY being 95"). I spoke to Leonard also, and he suggested the performance baffle for my 113", but I'm sticking with the standard for now. We've only got it tuned in to 4500 rpm, and I'm at 112hp/122tq.

Wow, HH does have some good numbers. I'd be quite happy with that.
