Friday swapped to the set of bars that i made everything going well till i tried to plug the wire harness back together and OOOps gonna have to get an extension kit, oh well no big deal. Went to mount the front brake lever and another BIG OOOPS! brake line too short. Anyone out there put a new brake line on an FXSTS or any springer for that matter? can i just find a new longer top piece or am i going to have to buy a whole new line? its a three piece design how would i go about finding the right length? any help would be great weather should be killer this week and need to get this thing back on the road asap!!
I was just at the local shop looking for the same thing. Was told that the factory does not make a brake line for the FX springers with a longer top section. I had to order a new brake line that met my lenght requriements. Should still be able to use the brake line holder on the rear fork, but now it wont be held at the center of the neck on the bottom. i switched to a braided line...hopefully I'll get a little better feedback and stopping power. We're already asking a lot from that small single piston brake.
Pbasz-
