Default New 2012 Lo

Just picked up a 2012 FatBoy Lo on Friday. Black denim, and everything is stock. Ordered V & H Big Radius but I got impatient and took delivery without the pipes. First Harley.

If I can figure out how, I'll post some pics when the pipes come in. Just trying to figure out where to put my feet after a number of years on sport bike.

Having trouble with neutral, and have read some posts about people having trouble finding it. Hopefully I'll figure it out, or it will correct itself during break in.

Enjoying this upstate NY spring.

Default How high can we go?

Trying to read back and using the search function I'm looking for how high of a riser on a FLSTFB can we go? When the dealer said 140 for this cable and 129 for that cable etc et... well I was wondering how much is too much (so I won't need to buy new cables) ? I can buy 5.5" risers and 4" risers - my dealer says only go two more inches but I read somewhere here that 5.5" would not require new cables. Any first hand knowledge from the "Lo -Lifes" out there?

Dunk17, Congrats on your purchase, I rode sport bikes for years, and still have one. Finding neutral is a pain most the time (on the Lo), try doing it while still rolling. It tends to go in easier. Some bikes are just like that, old Ducati moster's were damn near impossible to find neutral.

After she brakes in you'll find neutral easier. Congrats and enjoy!

Well since I was last on here my bike has changed a little and I love it! And since these were taken I've added the LED HD headlight in black...

I have herd of guy going with 5.5 and 6" risers without changing any cables or brake lines. But I cant say if they had ABS on the bikes or not. The front Upper ABS line may need to be changed out. I swapped the bars from to 2011 to the 2012 bars and only needed to change the upper ABS brake line. For reference The new2012 bars are 1.5" wider, 1.5" more pullback and 3" higher.

I like that fairing Bear. That's in the near future for mine. Working on some other stuff right now. Gonna get it with a radio and speakers. Does yours come with them? And which brand is yours?

Mine is the Memphis Shades with a 6.5" Klock Werks windshield. I just ordered an 8" Klock Werks windshield about 10 min ago because the 6.5" aims the air directly at my head..

The Memphis Shades doesn't come with anything like speakers and such but you can find a kit for them for a radio and stuff..

Just for reference cuz I do like your "shades" how tall are you or if you prefer, I'm 6.2" and wondering if the 8" is enough. So could you be so kind as to post your new Klock Werks 8" when you get it installed? I must admit, I didn't believe a fairing would look "sic" but I think you pulled it off. Thanks
