Enjoyed it guys!

Battered and bruised but ok. Bike not so lucky.

If you don't have a crash guard, get one. It saved my leg today.
Sorry to hear bout the bike, but it can be replaced. As long as you're okay, you need to consider yourself fortunate. Hopefully you're back to 100% soon.

Sorry to hear about your crash, hope you're completely better soon. I never considered crash bars / engine guard as potentially protecting my body.
Did it help because you were still on when the bike went down or, if you were, when you were struck broadside?

No, I hit him broadside. It was a minivan turning left across traffic in front of me. I knew if I hit him straight on my head was going to torpedo the side of his van. I turned into him at the last second and it threw the bike sideways into a broadside against the van with my leg sandwiched in between them. The crash bar held up, didn't fold, so it left enough of a pocket for my leg to get saved in. Without that pocket, it would have shattered my leg from hip to toes.

Thanks for the well wishes guys! Not the first, won't be the last. I walked away from this one by the grace of God.

Glad to hear it wasn't worse. In Florida distracted drivers **** me off on a daily basis.

Replied in your other thread as well. Good luck, heal well. And again, sad to know there's one less Lo in the wild now.

It is all Grace! Well said. Liked “it’s not the last”. Same scenario about 30 years ago. Had to lay down and get the bike between me and the car. Thankful you are still mobile. Heal well. Listening on the bars... Take care!
