Question Removing Rear Fender Bolts

I'm trying to install Easy Brackets for some detachable saddlebags but can't get the rear fender bolts off for the life of me. I even kind of stripped one so I'm thinking I'm going to have to go to the local dealer anyway, but does anyone have any tips for getting these off? I bought the bike used last year so I don't know if the previous owner used the wrong Locktite or what.

There is a nut on the back side of the bolts. If it is really tight hit it with a bit of heat or put the torx or allen in and whack it with a hammer a few times.

Make sure you have the proper size torx head....... A little heat does help.

On an 06 you might have the nut kit on the inside of the fender and no nuts.

I've stripped them before, cause the locktite can be a bear....If that's the case just drill them out and replace with new bolts from your local hardware store...

take a soldering iron to the bolt, this will heat it up and will loosen the locktite. Replace those soft torx head bolts with some deep allen heads, they wont strip. Be sure to use antiseize if they are Stainless

Go pick up a hand held impact driver. You can get one at Harbor Freight pretty cheap and it's good to have in your tool box anyway.

Mine were a bitch to get off too. Just about stripped one out. It's the factory lock tite. I had to put a pipe wrench on the handle of my torx driver to get more leverage. I'll try the heat next time.
