Windshield size question????
I'm needing some help on how tall of windshield will best suit my needs. Like many of you have posted on here, I also just want the windshield for extended trips and winter time riding. Other than that I prefer the look without it. I am 5'10 and i have an 09 Deluxe. I have pretty much decided on a Memphis Shades (Fats) windshield Im just not sure how tall to go? I see that they have a 15,17,19,21 inch. Can any of you throw some suggestions my way. I dont want to go too tall. I just want eye level or a little below. Any help would be great
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well here are my thoughts, I am 6'4" and have a 19" memphis fats. I just look over the top, but I also have a C&C seat that drops down an 1" or so. I got a killer deal on ebay, but if I was to do it again I would go a different direction. The quick release hardware that is left on the bike after you take the windshield off is freaken huge. It looks so ugly to me that I have been researching other windshield options. Just my .02

I've always heard it should come up to your chin or nose so you can easily see above it. I'm a short little $hit with an '06 Deluxe and got a killer deal on a standard height 21" King Size Nostalagic. I look right though it and it has a big scratch right in the line of sight. Never bothered me, I don't even see the scratch. No problems at night (headlight glare) or in the rain either.
Not suggesting you should get one to look through it, but at your height, I'd get the 21". You can always cut it down if it's too tall. Just my 2 cents.

I never even put much thought into the brackets that are showing when you remove the windshield. I assumed that most brackets were the same and the MFG would try and blend them with the bike when the windshield was removed . Thanks for that bit of advice. Anyone else have some input to steer me in the right direction

This is how I figured mine out. Since everybody is different. Different heights and seats, I cut a piece of cardboard and marked various sizes and then taped the cardboard to the headlight. After I got an idea of the size I cut the top off to double check. Remember to add an inch as the shield will be an inch over headlight. Also helps to have someone hold the cardboard.
