Frekin no way! Do it yourself. That kind of stuff is what this forum is here for. What year is your bike and what exoust are you going with? It's easy. Took me like 2 hours and 3 beers to get mine on and its my first harley and the first time installing pipes. If I did it agian maby 1 1/2 hours.
It's not a massive job, but probably not for the very inexperienced so would suggest you get done professionally. But ..... we all had to start somewhere!
If you have a mate who can help you out / keep an eye out so much the better!
Look at it closely then do it yourself. Be sure to use a MOCO manual to get the step by step cuz it kinda sucks if you get the pipe loose and find something like the runningboard is in the way (don ask how I know). Cover anything that even looks like it can come close to getting scratched and get somebody to give a little help, with minimal tools the job is very easy.
Do it yourself. Very easy to do. If you can change your own oil you could do this no problem. If you have long pipes a buddy to hold the back up while you get the screws finger tight is helpful. If your dead set on having someone else do it I would look for a local Indy shop. It will be cheaper and you can probably watch it being done.
its not that hard to do a few nuts and bolts do it yourself if you have any problems we are here to help
+1
disconnect the o2 sensors before removing the stock pipes, it's easier to get an open end wrench to remove the sensor with the pipes off the bike...i recommend using new gaskets, even though on my first pipe change i left the stock ones and did not have any problems...
if questions arise you'll find help here...
Do it yourself, I also know very little about Harleys, but I was able to get done with one of my friends helping me in about an hour. It will save you some cash. Especially if your like me I'm on my 4th set of pipes in about 9 months, can't make up my mind..LOL
While I agree that it's not a hard job, it's not as easy as eating ice cream on the couch. That lower flange nut on the rear cylinder is a bitch to get a socket on!
Thanks alot guys went away for the weekend was killing me to know what your opinion was. My friend already said he help hes got every tool known to man so we r gonna give it a shot.. ill keep ya posted
