When riding my Fat Boy I have noticed that when I do a sweeping turn onto the interstate I hear a "whooshing"(?) noise. When I straighten up the noise goes away. I am thinking the holes in my wheels are making the noise. No vibrations or handling problems. Anybody else heard this?
haven't thought about the tires. Bike only has 3500 miles and the frt tire is wearing funny. I will keep an eye on the front end. Thanks
I just want to relay my experience with the OEM tires on my Fatboy. I was kinda disgusted with the longevity of the stock rear tire on my 09 Fatboy (7000 miles). So, because I'm going on a 4000 mile trip into Canada and then to Sturgis, I decided to go with a new rear tire. WOW! I put a OEM Crossbones tire (I believe its a Dunlop D401) on the rear, and wow what a difference. It's a lot quieter than the OEM tire, and handles the same. So I started to think about the front (I had been having some decel wobble ). I decided to go ahead and put a front tire on. I went with the Dunlop D205, and BINGO, my front end wobble went away, I noticed when I took the front off, it had a little uneven wear (cupping). The indy I used to install the tire onto the rim said that the D407 had been recalled for cupping. Just wanted to let everyone know, if you have a little wobble and still have the OEM front tire, take a good look at it. My tires cupping was very subtle, but noticeable. Now I can let off the gas at 60mph, let go of the handle bars, and no wobble at all, all the way down to 20 mph. I all smiles now. Just want to relay info on what a tire that is not wearing normally.
