Riser Gap problem with Carlini's (help)
ok so im on my second set of 1'' risers and i have the same problem...
My carlinis are 1.25'' stepped down to 1'', however, when i mount the risers and put the recommended 15flbs on the top screws there is a 3 to 4 millimiter gap betwen the top and the bottom part of the riser. im not at home so i cant post a picture, i will put one up when i get there... i am not as concerned with the looks as i am with the bars coming loose at 70mph... any thoughts? ideas? is this safe???? |
If the risers bottom out to each other, are they clamping down on the bar???
|
That's normal. At least in every bar I've seen it is. Mine have the exact same gap, but they don't budge.

Similar gap on mine. Not a problem with functionality, but could be in appearance. I have no issue with the gap. My opinion - Carlini's products are some of the best on the market.

hmmm interesting... yeah, looks dont bother me, i just wasnt sure that having all of the pressure on those four screws was normal, i figured the force would be distributed along the whole plate.
they are clamping on the bars hard... they dont budge. |

i should be done tonight (if i dont run into any more shennanigans). All i have left is front brakeline, stop light switch replacement, some sodering work for a resistor on the front turn signals and the tank lift kit. im hopefull... |
Gap looks normal to me....
Bike is going to look Great when it's done! CC |
If there was no gap, then the risers would be as tight as they every possibly could be, which may not be enough. Small gap is normal, and good.
