Default Searched and Searched.......Fender Chop

Does anyone have good pictures of a Fat Boy with the rear fender chopped? I cannot find anything that really gives me an ideal of the look.

Thanks in advance

i have no idea what im doing but i guess at worst i waste 20 bucks.

I chopped a fatboy rear fender and put it on my crossbones. Not the same bike but you get the idea of the look of the fender. Let me know if you want any certain pics or different angles. Need to lower it about 2" to get it to look right though.

What did you (or what are you going to use) to chop the fender? I have a spare rear fender and I am planning on doing the same thing. Ay ideas if it is tough to change the fender out?

After you scribe the line of the final shape, make your cut just outside the line. Then take the rest of the metal off with some sort of sander. Smoothing and shaping down to the scribed line. As long as the first cut doesn't cross the scribed line. You're good to go, as you still have metal to work with.

Here's how i did mine: 1. Mount fender and put masking tape over the area that you plan to cut. 2. Mark your lines onto the masking tape to make sure you like the look of the line. 3. Pull the fender off and get a dremel with a few metal cutting blades ready to go. 4. I used a paint can lid to mark my lines and give me the round edge on the sides of the fender. 5. Clamp the fender to your workbench and start cutting with the tape still on (this will help keep the paint from chipping). 6. Once you have the cuts done use a dremel grinding bit to work in the angle and smooth all the edges. If your carefull enough you should be able to get some touch up paint to do the fresh edges and shouldnt need to repaint the fender.

Couple things to keep in mind are the license plate needs relocated and brake lights need to be figured out. I ended up running the side mount plate and a converter that makes my rear turn signals the run/turn/brake signals. Let me know if you have any problems
