Default spark plugs for a 96 inch?

I have Harley plugs now, but notice a bit of rust on outside after last wash. Anyone try e3 or any other brand?

I put NGK #3481s in my 2010 Wide Glide. It made a differance it revs faster and my *** dyno says more power lol. They are two steps hotter then stock and it pings a little under hard load but very little and it did with the stock plugs. I tried some octane booster 108 turbo and it stops the pinging and revs even faster and pulls harder and more responsive. I put half a bottle per tank its $9.00 a bottle at the Checker in town. I also notice MPG goes down a little when running the octane booster but only 3 or 4 and its worth it to me the bike still gets at least 40 even ridding hard.

I put SE triple platinum at about 5000 miles and still look great at 50k. keep my stock ones in the tool pouch.

Personal opinion but I would never consider going one step hotter let alone two. Might be the pinging problem. Many go one step colder particularly with a bit more compression.
NGK, Champion, Autolite are all fine. No need to spend money on the trick plugs.

I've heard good things about Autolite 4164, at least on carbed bikes. I'm going to get a set and try 'em on my EFI.

Cool HD GOLD plugs vs E3

I have had the HD Gold in the bike since brand new. I am seeing a bit of rust and discoloration on them at 4500 miles. I put in E3 and immediately notice improved throttle response! Maybe it's all in my head!? But I could not get the plugs in their tightly enough. One fell out of my left ear!
