Default Lowered Bikes and Two Up Riding

Hello,I have a 2005 Softail Deluxe and plan on lowering it this winter.I was wondering if anyone has went 2 inches and rides two up.I have not made a final decision on how to lower it and would like to get it right the first time if I can.I know I wont be using an air ride.My riding will be a 50/50 mix with a lot of local riding and day tripping.Thank you for any help or suggestions.

Everyone Ive talked to with a lowered bike said if your not going to do air ride, go with progressives in the back. they are adjustable in both ride hight and compression. Makes for a nicer ride. just my

Mine is a about 1 1/2 inches. Do 2 up some with stock shocks with lowering bolts. Rides OK but does bottom out a little in a decent size bump. I'm about 210 and my wife about 120lbs.

I'm thinking of doing the same. Just curious if you have the stock shocks adjusted or not.

I stiffen them up a little. I actually like the feel better then factory setting. I would love to do the air ride but thats a lot of coin.

I have the Progessives dropped 2 inches in the back and stock height up front. It can get pretty rough riding 2 up but I don't do it often. I weigh 180 and my wife wieghs 115. You can raise and lower it pretty easy if you need to.

Had the HD/Deluxe lowering shocks. For me, would not want to go lower as the ride is a little rougher, bottomed out a couple times even after adjusting the shocks, and scraped more often just with one inch drop - same as your Deluxe stock. Not a terrible ride, did put the FB stock shocks back on though. May put the lowering ones on again just for fun. Ride 2up 50%.

Installed the Shotgun Shocks system, and now can ride two-up and still not bottom out when lowered. I'm 205 and the wife is 160, and I can adjust on the fly and take it up and down as needed. Best money I've spent on it! Went for a ride out to Port Costa last weekend, and the start is on the freeway where I was able to lower and stiffen it a little, then hit the twisties and raised and stiffened even more to take the turns, then softened it up some to just get comfortable and had a really good ride. The wife was really happy once she understood the difference, and really appreciated it.

Mines lowered 2" ride alot two up just have to watch the road surface a little closer and warn my wife when a big bump is coming up.
I rode from Colorado to Illinois by way of Sturgis with her on the back no problem.
I have her convinced all bikes ride this rough!
