Talking New member/ Softail owner

Hello to all, new here and to bike ownership. Just purchased an '05 Springer Softail w/13,000+ miles. She's beautiful. Future Wife (will post pics w/bike later) named her Bonnie Blue (try and figure where that came from). New to riding. Any suggestions/advise appreciated. Have taken her out at '0 A.M. for rides to get used to her. I know my limits at 39yrs, and don't go overboard, just getting familiarized with her. I live out in the country, decent roads. Still gotta take rider course/get endorsement, bummer. Is it a normal feeling of this style bike that the forks are lifting off the ground even at 1/4 throttle in 1st/2nd? I also respect this machine, man she is weighty and powerful. Glad I bought an HD and not anything else. Love that sound. Thanks for looking.

Congrats on the bike! Yea just take it easy and get comfy with her. no need for speed right now, just sit back enjoy the ride and let everyone see your new bike going down the road. but it is without a doubt impossible to not crank that throttle wide open eventually.
