Default Big City Thunder Baffle Question

Anyone with these know how far the actual baffle (washer looking) part is from the pipe opening? I have my own home made set up but I am trying to learn what the difference is.

For the slip ons they are at the end of the stock head pipe.

I've had them in a previous bike. It depends on the application to where it goes. They also give you different places to mount depending on what sound you're looking to get.

On the V&H big radius they are 6" in from the end of the pipe. That is where I put mine and sounds awesome.

Here is the article I posted when I mounted mine.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-pictures.html

The lollipop washer is about 10 inches in the pipe from the end on my bike. I drilled the bolt that holds the baffle about 4 inches further in than the stock hole. And I put the lolipop side of the baffle closest to the engine.
As long as you have the lolipop at least 10 inches from the tail end, it will be OK. You really can't mount it too far in the pipes as long as you can see it from the tail pipe end. The sweet spot on Harleys seems to be around 12 to 14 inches or so in from the tail, I have seen and heard on other bikes. I think the instuctions said you could mount it closer too the rear, however it will be so loud you will regret it if you do. Big city thunder baffles mfg is located about 15 minutes from me.

Just took the bike for a good ride. I was rather impressed with how my homemade baffles did with the 1 3/4 pipes. Bike almost has an EVO sound to it. Very nice.
