Every bike I've ridden without a fairing or windshield had alot of windblast on the highway.

I also have a 2005 CVO Fat Boy. I have no complaints. It doesn't seem any windier on it then any other bike I have owned, that didn't have a windshield. I can't see how a Sportster or Dyna would give you any more wind protection.

I ride about 90 miles a day, and without earplugs I would be deaf. The wind noise is the root cause of most rider complaints....and yes, it WILL damage your hearing.....Trust me, I wish I had been smarter when I was younger.

Earplugs are a must for me as well. Even with them, sometimes I notice ringing after highway rides if I don't have em situated just right.

Havin said that, since switching out to 12.5 chubbys, riding at higher speeds seems much easier to me than the stock fatboy bars.

Can't stand my windshield but it comes in handy for longer rides. Full face helmet is a must for me without the windshield.

Yup you have the same bike as me and I think I have actually seen a pic of your bike on the CVO forum. I don't know if you have ever hopped on another guys bike after you have been riding yours for a while but you should. My buddies fat bob does not have 1/2 the blast as the fat boy.
