If your bike is lighter, you ride solo, and you do NOT want to put bigger heads in the future, Andrews26 is the best choice, I went with the 37, as I plan to put bigger jugs/heads in the future.

p.s. forgot to ask, if you are changing tensioners to hydraulics while you are at it ?, how many miles you got on that engine ?
or you are sticking with the old tensioners ? you can check a thread I started a few weeks ago about the wear on my cam bearings (replaced) after only 36K .

For a bolt in cam with stock heads, you might want to compare them against the Andrews 21 or 26, Headquarters 0034, or maybe a Woods T6.
I'm assuming by looking at the 510's, you're opting for gear drive vs chain drive. If that's the case, just make sure that whoever is installing confirm that the crankshaft runout is within tolorance.
Just curious, have you talked to a shop to see just what's involved when you install cams and the cost associated with it? (Fuel management, adjustable pushrods, tune, etc.)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++
+1 on above,, the 38* intake close will be a little lazy below 3k, and with Ur long shots Ur already loosing in the low end anyway...

The HQ's 0034 with their 36* will come on 200-300 hundred rpm's sooner.
I've also heard the Crane cams can be bought again,, their HTC-300 has a intake close of 33, that would be good for low, lowmid TQ..

I have the 26h's There good all around..while not the best performance cam out there for a bolt-in, there easy on the V-train and have a little more lope than the stockers to them, but what I like is where they put the TQ, its where I want it, lots of low / mid / and stiil make good TQ till 5200...

There great riding 2up and I can now really use 6th gear easy at 60 and still she has plenty of TQ to accelerate. The 26's gives me as much TQ now in 6th at 60 as she used to have riding 55 in 5th gear before the cams.

Heres my dyno with them..Its the first post in the thread..
Also I still have stock headers and Rush slip-ons, which I love their sound, I know I'd get better numbers with a good 2-1 system.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-softails.html

Notice that the with the 26's TQ is never below 80#'s from 2k to 5200 rpms,

The stock run started at (70#'s) VS (84#'s / cams) at 2k, and ended up at (63#'s) VS (80#'s /cams) at 5200...

Peak in the middle was near 14#'s...

Thats 14#'s more down low or 20% better and 17#'s better at 5200 or almost 30% better over the stock cam dyno.. and U can feel the diff...
Plus she get 2-3 mpg better and runs around 15* cooler...

Hope this help Ya...

I have a 2009 Street Glide with V/H power dual headers, stage 1 download, PM High Flow, Thunderheader slip ons, SE racing tuner, and a 96 motor. I do alot of street riding, and on occasion go to Las Vegas and/or San Diego. I live in the Los Angeles area. We have lots of traffic, so I would like low and mid range power since we white line alot. What cams should I get in your opinion and why? It sucks that I will lose my extended warranty, per the dealer. SS, Andrews, Woods, Zipper? 2009 with 13K, I don't think I ride that much. I do want to keep up with the 103s, 107s, 110s, and 124s out there. Is heat an issue with upgraded cams? Zipper claims there is not a heat issues with their cams...

I have an '03 Fat Boy with a Lehman trike conversion..I just got it back from the shop yesterday after having S&S 510/Screaming Eagle adjustable push rods installed..I put 100 miles on it after picking it up and I can tell a big difference in torque when I'm going up hills..what I don't like is the lack of power in the midrange RPMs when I'm somewhat aggressively going through the gears..but I think that's the trade-off for getting the power I want for the heavier load I'm pulling, ie, the trike kit and ME..so far, so good..meanwhile, I do think the fuel management system needs some fine tuning, as I can smell burnt fuel now, when before the upgrade, I couldn't..

My 01 Softail runs great with the 510Gs!! I put the S&S Super E and Sampson 2 1/4" short slashers on ( when new ) at the dealer, came out with 74hp, and 82 fpt, pretty damn good numbers for just carb & pipes. At 35,000 I put in the 510s, new lifters, adj. pushrods, and changed to SE ll slip on exh. Well I now have over 78,000 miles, and the bike still runs Strong!! S&S advertises another 13hp with these cams! I never had it on the dyno since these cams, but I'll tell you this...my Softail runs great at 78,000+ miles!! I highly recommend the 510Gs!! I never got the gear whine, that some people "whine" about! Pun intended...ha!

Speed safely!

Steve
PS, if S&S is correct, I should have 87hp, with about 90 fpt.
