I have put approximately 500 miles on my deluxe trying to get comfortable on it. I knew it would be different handling compared to my sportster so before doing any mods I have waited. Well I finally decided to get chubby 1, 5.5 inch risers with pull back. I am hoping these will make it easier to turn the bike. I do not want to chang the handle bars because my carpal tunnel syndrome is no longer acting up and the only thing I am done different is the handle bars.
The question is has anyone else gone this route and did it make it improve the handling. If not what else could work, I cannot get a reduced reach seat because my legs would be to cramped. Just looking for suggestions to make this bike as comfortable as possible without spending lots of money.

 

Risers likely won't make it much easier or harder to turn the bike, although they could make you more comfortable or give you better leverage. To ease turning you really would need wider bars. Ease of turning is all about torque around the steering axis.

 

I put 14" Gangster apes with the 1.5" bra risers on my Deluxe. It was the 2nd best thing I ever did for my aches and pains. I will never use anything else. Good luck.
