Fan of the Metzeler tires over the Avon for me. I read somewhere, here I think, that the Metzeler tracks much better then others because of it's tread patter on heavily grooved roads. I don't personally know that to true but that statement holds my interests for when it's time for me to get new rubber. I also read though that the Avon is a softer compound which relates to better traction in the rain. I would personally prefer a good sticky wet whether tire over a higher millage tire though. I am pretty sure my suspension upgrades can address and tracking issues I might encounter with the Avon.

I run the Cobras, and love them. Firm, and sure-footed is what I've experienced with them on my '08 FLHX.

Aren't taste and flavor basically the same thing?

Avon Cobras, had venoms before them, they are a good tyre, softer compound, you run them with more air than standard.

+ 1 on the Avons, they stick to the road.
But I would consider the Metzlers if I need a high millage tire.

I just put on the Metzler Marathons in place of Dunlops (401& 402). They track and corner great but over 70 mph I get a buzz in the foot boards that is pissin me off. I will go Avon on the next set.

Avon here. On my second set, very pleased with their performance.
