I always use heat, the right tool for the job and NEVER USE POWER TOOLS ON TORX or Allen bolts. Slow steady pressure with the right bit will get it out. That plus always making sure the socket is in the fastener correctly and not off to an angle. I hate taking the short way out of a job (power tools) and ending up taking half a day to repair the problem.

I found a friend who had a dremel and we cut the screw heads. Then using heat, a big head screwdriver and lots of force, we got them out. I really hate those torx screws.

I've never had any problem with a screw backing out from anything...

Maybe being a machine-repairman for 41yrs has something to do with knowing how.......

If its stripped that bad, cut the slot with the Dremel deep enough for a large impact driver head. The snugger fit the better. Heat it with a heat gun but be careful not to over heat and blue the chrome, or melt the paint. Then hit it with the impact driver. If you have help you can have them hit while you heat. So there's less heat time on the bolt.

Loctite didn't cause this problem. Unless a permanent grade was mistakenly used.

The day before disassembly, you could have squirted a little Aerokroil around the threads. The following day, an impact driver w/ the proper bit would have started the screws w/o trouble. Once you bugger the driver recess, you've made the job an order of magnitude tougher.
agreed its very important to use the right size bit and the correct pressure.

Heat almost always works..when you get it out do yourself a favor and replace them with chrome allen bolts...just won a set 13$$ on ebay 8 bolts and nuts washers and a few spacers ,look up fender strut bolts, they are made by gardner and westport....plus..easy to get on and off and they look great, you do have to use light lock tight
