Default Slip-on muffler help....Fat Boy

I recently purchased a 2003 Fat Boy, the previous owner replaced the stock mufflers for a set of Cycle Shack baloney cut slip-on's. These things sound good, but I have 2 problems with them....
#1 - the bevel on the top muffler doesn't mate up with the stock heat shield, and it looks ugly....
#2 - the baloney cuts are not lined up with each other, and it also looks ugly....

Still recovering financially from the initial purchase, so money is a bit tight, other wise I'd invest in a set of V&H short shots. I'm looking for a different set of "straight cut" slip-on's that will match up to the stock heat shields.

Looking for suggestions, web links, and any possible info connected to those suggestions.....thank's.....

Take a look at the Vance and Hines slip ons. They come with heat sheilds and when installed are almost the same diameter as the HD head pipes. They have the appearance of a custom whole exhaust setup. You can install different baffles for the sound or volumn you like.

I bought mine on-line from Dennis Kirk, great peolple to do business with.

Good luck with your new bike!

Saw these on the V&H website....(thanks Drew).... but was concerned about fit since they list the model (1801-0259) for 07 to 09 FLSTF, but not for anything earlier....

Will these fit an 03, and mate up with the stock heat shields....?

also...whatever happened to the Screaming Eagle line of slip-on's, did Harley do away with them...? can't find them listed on their website.....?

I have a 2009 fatboy with rush slip ons. They sound great and heat shield looks great also. A friend I ride with has a set of screaming eagle II slip ons and I think the rush mufflers sounds real similar. Just my 2 cents.

The rush mufflers were purchased from the Harley dealership and cost under $300.

I have the Bub 7 slip ons on my FB lo. Love the look and the sound, and they are super inexpensive. I just ordered a set of samson sidewinders. If you like the look of mine Id sell them dirt cheap or you can buy them brand new for 125 on the net.
