Default 3" or 5" swingarm bag?

Trying to decide between the 3 or the 5 inch swingarm bag. Never had any bags on my bikes before. Those with these bags, what can you realistically carry in the 5" bag that couldn't be carried in the 3? Any advice would be appreciated.

the leatherworks 5" bag:

My idea of a "weekend kit", consisting of a hooded sweatshirt, 2 tshirts, 2 drawers, 2 pairs of socks, a fleece hat, and toothbrush/toothpaste

and it all fit into the bag without a problem and I was able to get it closed..keeping in mind it's not mounted:

I packed home a 6 pack of tallboys after work today in the 5" LW bag. Fit perfectly, except my coffee mug had to go in my jacket pocket! Just installed it and a lowering kit and am nervous about dragging it on corners, but so far so good! I vote the larger, but to be honest it still isn't much room, just enough for a sweatshirt, gloves, and lunch. The 3" would be pretty useless to me.

I went with the 5" Leatherworks and I'm so glad I did.. Not sure how useful the 3" would be.. It's great to throw a sweatshirt or jacket in plus smaller incidentals.. My bike is slammed and I have hit it in a turn yet even when the primary was sparkin.. lol

It really depends on what you want to carry with you. I found that with the 3" and the huge lined flannel I wear regularly and all the tools and stuff I keep with me it was stuffed
to the gills. But, I never rolled things up as shown above. I think if I were to get another I would get the 5" version. You can get them here.

Get the 5". As stated above, neither hold a whole lot but I've got the 5" and it's very nice to be able to hold my lunch a drink and some gloves each morning for work. There's still a little more room, but not much. But the bag is very well made and looks great and I'm very happy that I got it.

Have short pipes so put the 5" ones on both side. Gives it a rigid look from the side, but maintains the comfort:-)
