You might also want to try a product called "Luster".. like Luster Lace and Luster Pads.. I had a bike that when I got it the chrome was pitted with rust in several spots, and after using those it got all the rust off and it looked like new chrome.. don't know how it works, but it worked.. smells nice too.

FatCat is chrome.

I stand by TurtleWax Chrome polish for my pipes when they need more than a quick wipe. I have used it on my FatCat and although I agree that clean chrome looks great, after a polish it adds a deeper wet look that really makes it pop. I don't know if it will help get the scratches out. Chrome is some tough stuff but damn it scratches easy.

I know how much work you just put into building that bike and hope you can make it right. Good luck.

Gotta be REAL careful with any type of polishing compound on chrome.

+1 - You can't polish chrome. All you can do is clean it.

I AGREE WITH THE OP, I USED THAT WHITE DIAMOND ONCE ON A RENTAL BIKE I HAD. I WAS TRYING IT OUT AND USED IT ON THE OIL TANK OF A HERITAGE. MAN AM I GLAD IT WASN'T MY BIKE BECAUSE IT PUT FINE SCRATCHES ALL OVER THE TANK

I purchased it at a Big Dog dealer. It works great on that polished aluminum or what ever that is that big dog uses on their bikes (it ain't chrome) but it ruins chrome

Stay away from that stuff!!!!!!!

The only thing I use on my chrome is a 3M 7447 Scotch Brite pad. That way I never have to start a thread about why my chrome is ruined.

Then cover with a protective coat the polish leaves to protect from rusting.

I've used 0000 steel wool on car chrome, including wheels and trim with no problem at all. Bike chrome must be diferent?

yes because it can't be cleaned/polished with anything thats not in an over-priced bottle recommended at your local stealer/bike shop.

0000 steel wool is so beneath using on a HD. (sarcasm implied)

Haven't used it for years, but the old Simichrome had abrasive particles that could scratch the chrome.
