For those that say it pushes you forward in the seat, take the pad off the bike and bend the bracket a bit in a bench vise.

Didn't take much for mine to feel much better.

Just ordered one for my 2007 Heritage, Don't have it yet but was thinking the same thing, on bending the bracket a little.

It's a Saddleman; came with a top roll bag. Purchased at the local dealership on sale. It stowed all of my clothes for a week and fits various sizes of sissy bar pads..

2001 Heritage - Grasshopper backrest bracket bolts into same driver seat bushings as the passenger seat plastic bracket. Driver seat bushings not designed to support different applications. Be careful...over time seat bushings may give way. I placed a 3/8" black rubber grommet under bracket for support and to improve backrest positioning.

It is great with solo seat but there is no way I can fit it on with the back seat on without possibly causing damage to the rear seat, The passenger seat on my bike(which is stock from the factory) would have to be squeezed back about an inch or a bit more – if I start forcing it the passenger pad would lift and separate from its frame
It is a good product but be careful ordering remotely without seeing it first on your model.
They were more honest with me. They told me on the phone that their solo backrest would NOT work with my stock passenger seat and that their two-up backrest would NOT work WITHOUT the passenger seat.

I might just buy two. Much cheaper than going the Mustang route -- which basically forces you into buying seat, backrest AND pillion -- and I like my stock seat.

Thanks for this thread. I just ordered me one for my 07 Heritage Classic. I have degenerative disk disease in 2 disks and now into my spine...ouch.
Hopefully this backrest will relieve a lot of the fatigue while riding.

I am a little concerned about how stable the rest is since it just mounts where the seat studs are. The only other rest I've seen is from Karaykin sp* but it mounts on the sides where the luggage rack is. It just looks kinda wierd having the chrome bracket on each side sticking out.

I figure on this one by grasshopper, if it feels too forgiving, You could just cut a flat piece of thin metal wide enough for the mounting holes, then long enough to run over the fender and short enough to be covered by back seat. Then cut a thin piece of rubber etc., under it to protect fender paint. This would distribute the stress over the fender more than just where the rest is mounted.

Will see when I get it lol

It looks like the backrest puts enough pressure on the back by the comments about it pushing you forward on the seat a little, which is what I want.
Also, was anybody dealing with upper back pain and hound relief with this backrest? I have old fractures between the shoulder blades as well as scoliosis and arthritis and I am hoping this will help alleviate some of the pain.
