Hey guys,

Looking at changing to Avon Venoms as some others have done. Went to Rocky Mountain ATV&MC website. They have white walls but do not call them wide white walls. The pictures look like WWW. The idiot I got on the phone was no help. Has anyone ordered these tires from them and what did you get?

This is the Avon Venom Rear 150 80-16 WW.I got from Rocky Mountain ATV.The front I cant help you with as I run a 90-90-21 Avon Venom WW.Actually got boths set from Rocky Mountain. Had the same 150-80-16 on my Sporty and Deluxe.Hope the Pics help

 

I have run both Avon's and Metzelers. they are both good. I am on Metzelers now and I like the fact that the Metzeler front tire has a little wider of a whitewall. As far as width, whitewalls are a tiny bit wider on the sides due to the white stuff, but not really enough to make a difference. I ran two sets of avon's prior to the metz's and I got 10K out of each rear.

On the Metzeler front tire the whitewall goes all they into the bead so there is not a black line around the inside of the tire.

I just mounted my third set of Avon Venoms last week. On the new rear the whitewall also ran into the bead, though not on the front. Not that it makes a difference.

Absolute best prices and service on Avons I've found is at Dennis Kirk. Just as an aside, there's no real reason to run a V-rated rear on a Deluxe. You can save a few bucks by buying the H-rated 150 rear.

Also, as a matter of interest, I spoke with an Avon factory engineer about tire pressures on this size Avon and he said to disregard the max pressure on the tire sidewall and use 38 psi font, 44 psi rear for solo riding and add 2 psi for passenger. He added that the people who complain about not getting good wear invariably underinflate the tires. I've followed his advice, and get fantastic wear and a great ride.

 

Thanks all for the replies. I ordered the tires mentioned above and they are both WWW. The front white wall is a little narrower than the back, but they look fine.
They fit on my Deluxe without issue. Rocky Mountain had them at my front door in 2 days. I am probably going to have to tweek the speedometer calibration to make up for the slightly shorter rear tire.
