Default Has anyone Modified a Touring Fairing to fit a Heritage Softail?

I'm really leaning towards putting a Fairing on my Heritage, but I don't want to spend a fortune doing it.

Been checking Fleabay for used Fairings, but most of them are for Touring bikes. I was wondering how hard it would be to modify a Touring Fairing to fit a Heritage Softail.

I'm fairly decent at doing that kind of stuff.

Has anyone done it and can you offer any tips on which fairing works best, or how you made the brackets?

Default me to..

i have a ultra classic now , but the weight is hurting my back if i do a lot of curves . i really like the stock harley radio system and am planning to ask if a bat wing can be installed on a heritage at the factory under their custom program.

Cycle Visions makes the brackets to put the RG fairing on the softails. Yes, I can get it for you too.

I recommend purchasing a quick detach to fit your bike, it will end up being cheaper in the long run. By the time you you purchase the outer, inner, brackets, windshield make your mods and apply paint your into more money than buying an aftermarket to fit. They can be had for about $300 and up. Good luck, and I hope you find what you need.

I know this is Talldog's thread and don't want to hijack so I wiill be brief. Yakbow, you say the weight from your Ultra is hurting your back. It's not the weight, the rake on the Ultra is less than the Heritage therefore it will be less front end heavy. The problem would be in your bars and seat set up.

my buddy put one on a softail classic..i saw a batwing on a honda vtx 1800,didnt look that bad from across the parking lot..would be easier to get one of them dragonfly fairings..have the stereo and looks,it is detachable, and no fake gauges,or need to rig then up to work..wish i had bought a roadking with that fairing instead of my electraglide

I have done a lot of research and I finally decided on a hoppe quadzilla fairing. It has tunes and quick detached brackets .

I got a reckless fairing. Good fairing and price, bad customer service though. $350 for fairing or $750 with tunes
