New Paint Colors --- HELP!

New Paint Colors --- HELP!
OK, so it seemed like there were a lot of good ideas about Paint jobs in here recently so HELP!
I am in dire need of ideas for my paint job. The tins are very close to being ready to shoot and I am still on the fence about what color(s) to go with. I was hoping some of you creative minds could help.
I’ll post a tons of pics and try to give you an idea of what I am into and why. None of these should be considered what I want; they are just ideas/inspirations. I like some of the colors, some of the styles, etc.
About the bike; it is sitting on stock wires with white walls, running stock deluxe fenders. (stock trim, I like the trim) I might lower the front fender down a bit, not sure. I will grind the rivets. I might consider some color on the rims down the road but the budget is shot so it will have to wait.
I am also having the tank shaved and will be running the cateye dash like the newer heritages. (no leather console extension, all painted tank) It will be lowered 2 inches in the front and has air ride in the rear. I’ll be running 33 inch Samsons. It will have beach bars too. Rear fender has the softbrake tombstone with the deluxe rear directional bar. The rest of the fender is shaved and the lic plate is on the swingarm. (no rack, seat, etc)
These bikes are what mine should look similar to: (style not paint)

This one but with stock wires and whitewalls:

This one, with shorter pipes and stock wires, different lights:
What I like is nostalgia, 1930-1950 stuff. I don’t like flake or scallops, flames etc. I am looking at doing 2 tone. (might still consider one color, really like the ones Reed built) I like the old colors, earth tones, steel blues, gunmetal grays, etc. (old VW colors were cool) I want it nostalgic but not over the top, not trying to restore my bike to look like an old Harley but just want that kind of flavor. (I know, confusing huh?)
I love the Deluxes done by Ryan Reed. They are a big inspiration for what I am looking for. I am planning on getting a custom seat made that is similar to what he used. (stock deluxe seat as a base) Of course I’ll be running dual fishtails and have more chrome. His are very old school, mine will be a little more “sinister old school” I have not ruled out doing one color.

OK so on with the colors, examples, etc. Here are some of the inspirations & colors I have liked;
Cool color, maybe yellow and brown(ish) strip?
Cool combo, maybe some red pinstripe on the bike?
I like the lay out but not a fan of blue and white:
I have always liked this combo on buses, not sure how it would translate to a bike.
Like this green, like the combo but has no “sinister” value:
FYI: This is the tank emblem I plan to use: (I like this paint scheme, not color but it is lacking something?)
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
So that should be enough to get us started. Please feel free to add thoughts or ideas, pictures, etc. If anyone has photoshop skills, have at it! Also, I like the oval tank insets (like that blue and white panhead) but do not like the way they do the deluxe paint on the tanks. I am open to tank schemes but not like the stock deluxe.
I like all these colors but just having a hard time picturing how they will lay out and look on a Harley.

Colormania did mine in the colors I requested (willow green and cream), and I specifically asked for the traditional tear-drop motif on the tank sides - but they can do anything you want. It's not "sinister", but certainly nostalgic.
I was considering a kind of dreamsicle orange and cream design before I ran across a willow green Jaguar at a car show and changed my mind.

Ofishbien; your bike is killer. (have pics of that saved too) It is missing any "sinister" but is heavy on nostalgia.
I agree and may end up blacking out some stuff depending on what colors I use and how it looks. (oil tank)
No other input???
only dig the cream colors if you black out your motor and minimize the chrome through out.
No other input???

The colors on the VW bus were used by HD in 1936, also the red with orange/yellow is a nice color combo from that period.
For more color choices check out this site: http://3d-files.co.il/Glinik_America...rtual_Show.htm
i could not make up my mind what to do, so my bike ended up white ... easiest to paint in different color should I figure out what I want.
