2001 Softail won't start no spark
 
I purchased this bike about 2 months ago, has been running great. About 3 weeks ago it started starting hard and would backfire but once I got it running it ran great. I changed all the fluids and then changed spark plugs and for the next week it started fine and ran great.

About 3 days ago it started having the same difficulty starting, I rode it for about 1/2 hour and when I stopped it and turned the ignition switch off it sounded funny like it wanted to keep running. Since then it won't start, pulled plugs today and tested, no spark. Any ideas what might have finally gone bad?

It is carburetor not EFI.

Ignition switch? Plug wires? Coil?

Modern bike come with all kinds of 'sensors.' Could be one of those 'tip over' sensors, or something like that.

It sounds like thr coil to me.

Is there a way to test the coil?
