Default Side mount plate holder options for Rocker? Cops?

What are options/suggestions for a side plate holder mounted up by the primary? Does anyone make one that just screws on without having to take off the primary cover?

Or I guess the ones on the swing arm look nice also. But, I don't really want the one that mounts on the rear axle, as I think it sticks out to far.

BTW, any problems with cops pulling you over if the plate is bent and mounted up on the primary cover or maybe hidden behind a swing arm bag? Or problems passing inspections? I'm in PA. Do they also require lights?

thanks.

i dont think you will have a problem for a bent plate, i never did...but i wouldnt try having it blocked by a swing arm bag cuz im sure you will get stopped often. check your state laws for vertical mounted plates, i hear alot of states are outlawing them. all licence plates require a light to illuminate them

yeah, thats a no go on a bag blocking it. even here in Texas. I got a budy with a custom hardtail evo chopper. and his plate is way up, almost mounted to backside of primary. add in a 300 series rear tire, we cant make a weekend without being pulled over.
none of my bikes have plate lights. never have had, never been asked. by time they can see a plate, headlights are shining on them anyway. plate lights always seemed silly to me. no place on the softail to run one.

Can't remember where I got mine, Kuyakyn maybe? But it has a light (small LED strip in the top edge) and is vertical mount. I haven't been hassled yet, but a lot of states have laws stating it must be horizontally mounted, a certain distance from the road, illuminated etc. Thus the reason all stock bikes with side mounts have them horizontal to meet DOT regs. But, like I said, never been hassled for mine, and I've got it turned at a pretty steep angle to match the swingarm, so it's not real visible from the back!

Massachusetts says it has to be after rear axle. I like the Kuryakyn but the brake light makes me a bit nervous being so small. If I'm stoppin I want them seein me stop.

That's cool! Even better is if it was remotely-controlled ...
