Default Toe-to-Heel shifter.....

Hey guys, really like the forum. Anyways, I've been riding a dyna glide for the last 17 years and have been thinking about picking up a fat boy. My question is what is it like shifting with the toe-to-heel shifter? And does the floorboard get in the way? Thanks for any info offered.

I took my heel shifter off my FLSTC, HD makes a nice cap for the stub.

Hi...and welcome. I really like the toe/heal shifter and as far as I'm concerned the floorboard does not get in the way. The toe/heal on my FB is the first toe/heal I ever had and it was a little strange @ first but now it's just second nature.
I'm sure you'll get many different comments on it, but again, it's just second nature to me.

Same here, took mine off. I tried it for a week, but felt that I was healing down to hard and coming down hard on the clutch. I don't know I guess I just have a heavy foot.

I hardly ever use the heel part but I like having it there to change things up at times. I'm 6'2" and it doesn't get in the way.

Of course the floorboard doesn't "get in the way". The heel-toe shifters are made specifically for floorboards. The only issue people have with them is that the heel shifter can get in the way and limit where you can rest your foot on the floorboard. Harley actually makes a foldaway heel shifter that you can push out of the way with your foot once you're up to cruising speed.

Same here.... but not cause the heel shifter was bad just wanted a change. At first i was against floor boards, but now i kinda like them. I can stretch feet off the front of them or put toes on back of them. Only bad part is they scrub all the time.

I like it way better than just the toe shifter. Adjust the height of it to your heal, and rest your boot against it.

Took mine off to give me more foot room on the floorboard.
I like to toe shift, always have.
