i'm gonna need a bigger bench... theres more to this then i thought.. i knew i waited till winter to do this for a reason.. i can see where it wouldn't be bad to do after doing a few of them though.
Thanks for the encouragment!! LOL.. Bars were my next mod right after a new hydralic cam tensioner, plate and oil pump. I was kinda kidding myself too that it looked alot easier then it really might be. I have not made up my mind yet, apes or beach bars but either way let me know how this turns out for you. I work SO much so it don't take much for me to throw everything back in the boxes and take my scooter down to my buddy who owns a bike shop. I am getting older, less free time and not as patiant as I once was! Good luck Dude and keep us posted.
i'll say one thing, i wish the wires came out of the gray rectangle and black square connector as easy as they did from the flat t/sig flat connector.. what a PITA..
luckily the harness connectors will come out of the triple tree top plate without any issues.. just a little fiddlin with the correct position and they come out.
so i had to order a brakeline and the throttle cables i got with the bars are too short. i ordered up new cables and brake line from Magnum and should be here tomorrow for the weekend.
also have to pick up two studs to relocate the turn signals down to the fork tubes.
i currently have the fangs on my bike and have no intention of taking them off since they do exactly as designed.. my dilemma is, do i just route the wires around the fangs or do i drill holes in the corners to route the wiring through and they will be essentially hidden from view.
anyone here ever drill a set of fangs ? any rust issues or anything else down the road ?
