Forward control's.

Has anyone ever seen or have pictures of a Deluxe with forward controls on it? My worst fear came true the other day when I got my bike out for a quick ride and I am bummed ever since. I have been having major problems with my hips, God getting old blow's!!! They do not bother me when I stand, they don't bother me when I sit. They bother me most getting up and down or like when sitting on the bike, raising and lowering my feet to stop and go. I see it as my options are limited. 1) quit riding, that is NOT going to happen. 2) surgery, that is NOT going to happen until I have to crawl to get around. One of my best freinds had hip replacment surgery thinking it would help him and aid him in his riding, it didn't help and in fact he had to give up riding until he got a bike with a side car. I don't want a side car! I have thought of a trike as well, to me that is not even like riding!!! 3) give up any form of city riding, hurry and get out and in the country where I don't have to raise and lower my legs so much. That does not sound fesable. 4) remove my running boards, controls and bottom highway bar and replace them with forward controls. It does not only hurt because I have to raise and lower my feet but with the set up like I have, like most of us run, I also have to push my feet outwards to avoid the running boards making it much more painful. I am trying to imagine how bad and how dumb it would look with forwards controls on it but if it's that, quitting or surgery, that scenerio seems like it would be my best option. Does anyone have any pics of Deluxe's with the floor boards and controls gone and replaced with forward controls? I would love to see them if you do. I have so much time, money, blood, sweat and tears into this paticlar bike. This was the bike I always dreamed of. I waited along time for this paticular bike and this just flat out blow's!!!

Have you tried leaving one foot on the floorboard and one on the ground when you top? Its much easier to lift one foot back to the board than both at the same time. It works well for me anyways. Give it a try.

Not a Deluxe, but the Heritage Springer is very similar...

Forwards don't look right.... I couldn't wait to get them off.

I am willing to do or try anything that can keep me in the wind.

at this point it doesnt matter what it looks like as long as you can keep riding

If I were to buy a bike with floor boards I would change it to pegs asap.

Good suggestion. I try to always keep my
right foot on the brake when stopped.

Oh yea, nice! I'm thinking of doing forward controls to my 2012 Heritage. Is the Harley kit a good one, what do you have? And I'm hoping it will "seat to pegs" distance be similar to my old FXSTC which fit me perfectly.
