Default Muffler thoughts? 2012 Heritage

ok guys how about some exhaust ideas for the new heritage? I took delivery of the screamin' eagle slip ons just because they where a huge pain to get and I'm selling them. I got to hear them on one of the rental bikes and they are a bit tamer than I'd like. I want louder than them, a good thump to them but we don't have to get to obnoxious.

Cycle Shack makes a replacement baffle for the SE slipons. Wrap them with fibreglass, stuff them in and they sound very good! I had them on my 09 Heritage because yes, the SE's were way too quiet.

Lots of posts on this, Whir. Just do a search and you'll find more than you'll need to know. Either that, or just get V&H or Rush slip-ons and call it a day.

Why not consider something like the already catless Patriot Defender pipes that adds power and the sound is variably adjustable. They are quite inexpensive and come in chrome, black, mixed, and in both long and short versions. Look at the site and watch the videos.

I read somewhere that removing the reflectors makes the exhaust louder.

The SE baffles are really easy to modify for more volume. A lot of people drill extra holes in them, but I found that you can just pry the flute hole open a little bit with a crowbar and they get significantly louder.

Don't know if the mounting brackets are any different on a 2012 compared to a 2010 but Biker Garage 101 has Rush slipon's for $99.00. Rush have a great sound and should be loud enough for you.

I ran the Big Shots Long from Vance & Hines on my 08 Heritage. If they're too loud you can always add the quiet baffles like I did. With the baffles it changes the sound to a deeper rumble. As a bonus, you lose the CAT.

I had Rush Slip-ons before my Samsons and I thought the sounds was just about perfect.
