Looks great! I saw that model in the HD brochure when I was 22 years old and knew I had to have a Softail one day. Finally bought a Springer Classic a month ago after waiting 28 (I can't believe it took so long) years.

Love it. I'm thinking of finding an 85 and fixing it up for the wife. She was born in 85. I robbed the cradle a few years

Hmmm, I didn't know it came with an S&S Carb originally ;-)
I hope to get an EVO Softail someday.
I got rid of the S&S, I wanted a round filter anyways. Put a Mikuni on it since I do ride it. I modified the choke cables so I could run it from the original dash location, so the untrained eye will never know it isn't stock. Here are a few photos of it and a video I took of the bike.

Great Job man, I love the way it turned out, these were the smallest and lightest softails to date...

they are at least 100 pounds lighter than the lightest twincam models . and they sound great... Enjoy it.
