Default apes for softail deluxe

i am 5'8 with an 06 deluxe i want to put apes on my bike but i don't want 16" i know that is to big so if you have a deluxe with apes that are about 10" to 14" could you post some pics of it to give me an idea of what i want or any suggestions would help

16"s aren't too big man. I am the same height with 1-1/2" risers and they are perfect! I sat on a buddys bagger that has 14s and felt too low for apes for me.

At 5'8 I would think 16 inch apes would be the way to go. I am 5'11 and riding with 18 inch carlini's.

Not only are the 10-14" apes too small for you but they will make your bike look weird.

Also imo.... Apes look best kicked forward.. Instead of leaning back... I guess yes i could go with 20" apes tilted back into my lap... Now that's weird!!!!

I have 16's (wild 1's) I'm 5'10" ...they come up past my shoulders... i think 14's would have been perfect...also take into consideration what seat your running...overall love the apes!

I have an 07 deluxe and just put 14 inch carlini flyin apes on it a week ago. Everyone says the carlinis claimed height is shorter than what they actually are and they are right. My 14s are basically 16s. Having said that, I am really pleased with them and I'm 5 10.

I would recommend 14's and tilt them forward. As mentioned, if you get Flying Apes add at least 1.5" to the stated height. SJ Ron
