My first post! I just bought a 2012 Deluxe, have not even actually taken pssesion yet as Im in the Coast Guard and leaving on deployment for a couple of months, will be picking the bike up after I return.

I have 36' sampson true duels installed and SE super tuner a se intake installed.

I was wondering if anyone can give me guidence or has installed the HD springer bags on a Deluxe?

My dad converted his 97 springer into a trike and has the complete rear end, Bags, struts etc that he is giving me if I can use them.

Really been enjoying this forum for the last couple of weeks and leaning alot. thanks !

I don't know for sure about a Deluxe....I had 2000 Solid Black Springer bags installed on my 1998 FB. Tech who installed the bags had to drill a new forward hole in the Fender Strut as the mounting holes were different.

If he wouldn't have told me I would never known.

I didn't want Blue, Red or Burgundy trim so I had to opt for the newer bags.

Lower Frame support worked out just fine and I am also running True Dual just not the cool ones you all have.....Bassani with the new Fishtail Muffers.

Hey thanks Karsten I dont really mind drilling into the struts for another hole but Im getting the 97 springer struts if I need or even can use them.

Well I'll be getting the maroon piping on the baggs Im getting and my bike is vivid black so maybe the maroon will kinda match the red/maroon in the tank emblem. or add a little red/maroon pin stripe down the road

He is sending me his saddle bag crash bars from the springer as well, I was just researching if they will fit now... love this site man

 

Easy brackets maybe an option. I am sure they line up to the strut holes and only have to drill the brackets to set your bags. I myself will be getting some ospreys with the brackets...therefore I don't have first hand experience yet, but guess they might work for them also.

 

I'm pretty sure the Deluxe uses the same fender struts as the Heritage Springer... Therefore.. Direct bolt on.....

 

It's a direct bolt on. I have them on my 2011 deluxe and no drilling necessary.

 

Only 2005/2006 needed drilling. I opted to change the Struts instead. All later years they provided the additional hole. For the record the 2005/2006 Fenders already have the hole drilled, it was just the Strut that didn't.
