Default Newbie questions

So, I'm planning on getting my first bike soon, and I'm wanting a Harley. I found a sweet looking 2004 CVO Deuce, but it's almost as much as a new 2012 Fatboy (that's the two bikes I've narrowed it down to). Just wanting to know some pros and cons of each one, coming from the owners. Thanks guys

I'd get the new one over an 04. It will have a 6 speed 103

I am with kozy...I have an 01 Fatty and I love it...but given a choice I would rather have the 6 speed and 103...plus you will have a warranty.

Sorry but...if this was my 1st bike I'd be looking more toward something you can learn on (crapster) vs. nicer HD. Not to say you can't ride, but youldn't you rather dump a $1500 junker vs. $15K hog...JMO.

That's true. The six speed, 103, and warranty sound great lol. I've read up a lot on fatty's, their owners seem to love them. The 2012 ones look amazing, too

You have a point, Iceman. But, it seems kind of counterproductive to pay for something I know I'm not going to keep long. But if I do dump it, you're right, I'd rather it be that bike I know I'm not going to keep long, lol.

That was my train of thought. I am going to take the MSF course on the 11th, and then go get the Fatty. Is the MSF course enough? I'd hate to pay big bucks, then dump it haha.
