Throttle and Idle Cable Length

What is the stock length of the throttle and idle cable? I have apes that are 2" over stock with 3" risers. I bought the entire set (bars, cables, lines, and chrome controls) from Hill Country Cycles so I don't know how much over the cables are. I measured the throttle cable and it's 46" from the throttle housing to the tip of the cable. Does this sound right?

The last time I did this was twenty years ago. I put the stock and replacement cables side by side. I also use heavy bailing wire to check the route I wanted to use. If you have the parts numbers, you can cross reference the numbers to their length. You said It came as a kit, so you should be good. Just measure and mock before you install. I am positive there are techs here who know the exact answer, but that's the best I can do. If not sure, just call them.

If you go to Magnumshielding.com, plug in your bike info, it will give you the stock lengths for all the cables and lines, as well as +2", +4", and so on. If your apes are +2", then.....

You say "with 3" risers" are they the original risers? If not how tall where they?

So you could be at +2 or +4 pending that answer because I know quite a few of our bikes, like the heritage only have a 1" or so riser stock.
