Default Softail Custom: Correct Metzeler Tire Pressure?

2007 Softail Custom.

Just started running Metzelers in the stock size (FT:MH90-21 & RR:200/55/17).

When riding solo, I previously filled the stock Dunlops to: FT:35 psi & RR:38 psi

It's my understanding that Metzelers like higher than stock tire pressure.

Does anyone know the correct Metzeler pressure for my application?

Thanks

I just replaced my tires on my Rocker-C with Metzelers and the shop told me to go by the maximum pressure shown on the sidewall. In my case, that would be 40 PSI front and 41 PSI rear. That is what I am going to do with mine, but on this subject, you can get 1,000 different opinions.

If you go to the Metzler website you can look up the tires and it will give the recommended tire pressure, it is what I used for my Deuce, so far so good.

Well, here's an opinion...if you inflate to the MAX, then ride that bitch like yu stole it on hot blacktop at high noon in August, what's gonna happen to MAX Pressure? Max is Max, and then well, good luck.
Sorry man, just a careful guy here, when it comes to tires on bikes!
Maybe too careful... wait for the other 999 opinions!

The pressures shown on the sidewall are maximum INFLATION pressures, not maximum OPERATING pressures. Certainly the pressures rise on a hot tire, so that is taken into account. Many people I speak to use the maximum inflation pressures, even on the factory dunflops.

You have to run Metzelers hard.
Check their website for your specific tire, all the recommended psi's are on there.

I run 42 on front and 46 on rear ME880's FLHTC.
