Default Fatboy shorter gear shift lever

I need to fit a shorter gear shift lever to my 2009 Fatboy to make it more comfortable. It needs to be an inch or two shorter. Does anybody know if a Sportster lever will fit on the spline?

Pics might help. Looks to me that if your linkage is that much shorter, you will have less play in the mechanism. A small foot tap makes a big shift.

This is the shift lever:

I guess you know that the foot shifter is splined and can be adjusted without adjusting the linkage?

Thanks for the reply but it's the lever itself that I need shortening rather than the linkage. I need to move the peg an inch or two further back.

putting a shorter one on will increase the foot pressure required to shift gears...
2'' shorter may mean a 40% increase...

Are Ur legs too short to reach or foot too small to reach the shifter pad.??

do U have the heel shifter on Ur bike.?? then U could use Ur heel to upshift and toes to downshift..!!
