That was my point. Why spend 30K+ on a bike that someone else has. They're not uniquely their own. I'm not gonna see another Lo like mine anywhere unless someone copies it exactly. But hey, if you have more money than brains, then go for it.
Had to have brains to get where I'm at, and that brought me money. My first Harley was a FLSTN in '94 that I bought when I was 17. After that I bought and built several other bikes that make the CVO look like a bargain. I'm getting back into HD and going after the Breakout. Was leaning towards a blacked out Fatboy Lo, but soooooo many someone else's have these. No matter how much you bolt crap on, it's still a Fatboy! Who knows, maybe my money will allow my brains to also get a Fatboy Lo, that would go great parked next to my Centennial ZR1!

Really, if one adds up all their nickels and dimes and labor spent on mods (even without factoring in resale value), the Breakout starts to look like a bargain.
I have my FXSTC exactly like I want it-but oh this bike haunts my dreams..
Yeah, me too. This is one sweet bike. Would have loved a CVO FXSTC with the 240 tire, Softail Custom type bobtail rear fender w/ side mount plate and mini-apes. Also like the idea of the bigger front tire and longer rake.

If you want to spend that kind of money on a bike, you're better off with a CVO. Sure you can build something with a better engine but as a whole package and for the resale value you make a better deal with a CVO. On the subject of this tread the new Breakout is as sick looking bike, The green one is owesome. But my garage is full with similar bike and when my wife will quit riding is 12 Deluxe it wont be an HD that will take the empty space
Drive safe and keep dreaming.....
No, make your dreams come true, life is so short...
The Breakout is the same frame as Rocker(check the part #'s). I like alot about the breakout like the wheels and wide glide front end, so I decided to buy them and put them on my 2008 Rocker. My bike is at the dealer getting everything installed. I also bought Breakout front fender and having painted to match. A couple other upgrades chrome swing arm, chrome master cylinders and oil tank. So hopefully will have CVO Breakout out look without the price and rear fender, lol. Pics to come mid April when everything is complete.
How many of you 'reviewers' has ridden one of these?
As I understand it, it is the first HD softail model with the centerlines of the tires on the same line in quite some time. It has more rake than stock. It gets away from the clamshell Jesse James riding position by putting the handlebars where they should be. I rode one in Daytona and it is what my '06 Nightrain should have been although I have to agree that fat tires trying to compete with custom choppers is a dumb idea. Personally, anything over a 180 seems like looks over intelligence to me.
I also saw it at daytona saturday the the 9th and rode it at my local dealer wed. Now my dyna is for sale and they have my deposit on a vivid black Breakout. I liked it a lot, are there things I would change, of course. Just closer than any other one they build right now. Coure I wanted a rocker with a heartland conversion. To each his own.
