Removing speedometer bezel for cleaning

I have a need to remove the speedo glass on my '96 Nostalgia so I can clean the underside of the glass. Is there any special procedure for removing this?
I do not want to cause any problems with the bike by doing something stupid when all I had to do is ask the question on this forum.
I have read the book over and over but there is no mention of replacing a bulb or having to do any cleaning of the underside of glass.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Frank

It's not made to be removable, but I do remember a thread on here about a way to uncrimp the metal trim ring to et the glass out. Some guys tried it no issues, a couple others broke the glass trying to get everything apart. I'll look around and see if I can find it, but maybe someone else will chime in too.

So if I were to somehow end up with a broken glass on speedo, I would have to replace the entire thing?
I would have thought you could get a new glass for the speedo and just drop it in somehow!

You can have the guys at a window shop cut you a new one for a couple of dollars.

Having one made is not the question or issue here. What I am trying to find out is can I get to the underside of the glass to clean it?

Google is wonderous sometimes:

As jreichart already wrote, there is a thread floating around on how to do it. If I recall correcrly, you tape of the bezel to prevent scratching. With a small screwdriver you go around the bezel and very gently pry at it until it snaps up and you can remove it. Supposed to snap back in place.

Not sure I want to chance removing the glass just to clean the underside. I may one day remove the unit and take a look at it, but for now I think it best to leave things alone. As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

What the heck. Now I have to give it a try. I will try tomorrow if I can find the time to do it. First thing I will disconnect the battery. Then I will try my best to see if I can disconnect the glass. If not, it will just go back on the bike and I will deal with it.
