folks its only on the newer bikes 2011 and up that have the problem

Im not sure why it comes on. I just deal with it. ... I have some plans on extending rear fender and smoothing it all out anyway... so i am just going to roll with the light on until winter time when I park here and get back to working on her....

it is a failure light b/c teh on board computer is reading their is a load problem with the tailight, meaning the computer thinks your tailight is not working and trying to warn you that its not working

the quick fix is to put in a load equalizer (resistor) and that tricks the computer into thinking everything is OK

the problem is though, if you do that, AND your tailight actually does fail you will have no idea

so the new circuit boards for the BAL have the corrected parts to fix the load inbalance and if the light actually does fail you will get the error light on the speedo, but those should be out this next month (from what they are saying)
