Those look like Samson Ground Pounders, but I could be wrong. Try their website to see if they have baffles for them. Or try the Thunder Torque inserts from DKCustoms (a sponsor). Inexpensive and really take the "harshness" out the exhaust note. Just a suggestion.
He beat me to it. Was going to say Samson street sweepers. I believe Samson has no baffels but sells quite ones. Check out their website. And good luck with your new bike. Looks like an awesome find.
Hi, from Norway, Interesting to read your piece. I have also just baught, almost the same 2003 bike in Norway, Heritage, and here it costs $ 25-30 000 and most of the difference are import taxes to the norwagian goverment. I envy your prices in USA.
I also have problems with too little fuel and a exhaust that is too much noice. I have ordered a PC V from FuelMoto and I am loocking forward to try it, when it arrives.
I drive with V&H Straightshots, now with bufflers. Want to buy something a little bit quite exhaust.
Will continue reading your thread.
Thanks for the replies. I'm almost certain they ate Samson ground pounders. If I could just add baffles that would be ideal. I like the pipes but I need a little less noise. Especially when engine braking.
Wouldn't adding baffles and exhaust back pressure screw up the tune?

Don't think the baffles would screw up the tune too much. It may run just a little rich but that's certainly better than running too lean! If it bothers you you can always get someone to re-tune it so it's absolutely perfect but, from what I've read, it's not like it'll damage anything.
I would suggest using torque cones. They will help eliminate some of the reversion when deacceling and will not affect the tuning of your bike. Her is a link to our website for more information. http://www.samsonusa.com/A-242.html
Thank you,

HD dealer wanted to charge me $1700 for parts and labor on a cam and cylinder + jug install. I think it was something like $1200 at one Indie. Another wanted to use S&S parts for a kit and charged $2500.

$1700 for a 95 BB kit is a pretty good deal..
3yrs ago a 103 BB kit for my bike during the winter special was $1800..
Better check to see If Ur Indy is doing it for $1200,, then I'd almost bet U he's just sending out Ur jugs and having them Bored out,, not new ones like the dealer is doing..
If U wait till winter and see what Specials they are having, U can save a good chunk of change doing a build in the off months..
Thanks for all responses. This forum is fantastic for a guy like me that loves to ride, but is not the best wrench. I can fix the hell out of my house though.
Overall, the trade up from the sporty to the Deuce cost me ~$4k. I was looking at some dyno numbers for 95ci bikes that were over 100hp and 100ft lbs of torque. Needless to say, this is where I want my bike as soon as possible.
This thread gave me a great idea for a bag setup and I think I have some options for the pipes; my wife however, may not be so down with a few more $K on the bike. Truth be told, it runs well and aside from some reversion issues (I think) there is nothing wrong with the set up, but yes, its loud. I think I will first try the torquing cones suggested by the samson tech. If that does not work, I can always go back to stock for a while, and after she misses some more birthdays/holidays, full stage 1 and 2 back on the table.
Seperatly, I dropped off the sporty to the new owner last night. I hope he enjoys the bike. I took incredible care of it and I feel a little guilty over selling it. With that behind me, my deuce is a while new animal and my sporty felt like a toy.
