I've bought some hard extended saddlebags and supposed hardware complete from a guy, all brand new, bags and lids are exceptional, real quality, but I need some help with the hardware, it appears that it isnt complete at all, so those of you that have done this mod, maybe you can tell me what I need, here's what I have.
2 bags
2 lids
rubber gaskets, I assume they fit between the bags and lids
2 latches that have a finish on them,
2 mechanical type latches that I assume fit behind the finished ones
4 rubber boots, I think these fit to lower bracket, that came with the bags,(I know I wont be using these as I will be getting the Cyclevisions)
and a handfull of torx head bolts with nuts
From what I can see, there are no hinges?
and from looking at pics on the web of these h/w kits, some thin strips of metal?
Am I missing anything else?
can I buy these missing bits separate? where from?
If anyone has a link to a install or diagrams with part no.s, I'd also b e very grateful
If u go on eBay and look up Harley hard bag hardware you can see pics of what u need. You can print the pic, cross out what you have then take it to a Harley dealership and ask for the parts your missing. I'm on my phone so that's the best I can do for now. You could also try asking in the touring section they'll know what you need.

Hey there Mark, here is the exploded view that I found when I did mine...its kind of hard to follow, so what I did was I went down to HD and took some pictures of a bike with hard bags so I could get an idea of where everything went. I have never seen isolated parts for sale. I got my hardware kit from Eastern Performance. The mechanical piece that the cover plates fit onto are your hinges. The half circle rubber pieces go under the bags on the lower brackets. The flat metal pieces go inside of the cloth piece. there is also a flat metal piece with threaded holes that goes on the inside of the lid where it attaches to your hinge. I can get you some pics of mine if you arent close to an HD dealer.
Thanks Guys
I've managed to find Parts list seems I'm missing 4 saddlebag cover baracket and the plates, and the cloth tethers and plates that fix them, possibly some small bolts, I've checked the invoice that the seller had from when he bought them originally, and all the parts I dont have are on the list, but they weren't in his Ad pics so hopefully h's got them somewhere.
I've just had a quote to paint them, which is pushing this bill up all the time, by the time I have my Batwing and a 23'' front I'll be bankrupt ...LOL
