throttle won't snap back help please
 

so im almost done with my bar swap putting everything back on. I adjusted the throttle and idle cables per my manual and it just wont snap back no matter what. throttle is just ok. brake light works and i shimmed lever. just have no idea what to do next. any help is appreciated

Is your poor man cc screw tight? Sometimes that does that or the throttle cable isn't run right?

sounds like the cable isnt run correctly or the cables need to be adjusted correctly.

The spring at the throttle body is supposed to make the throttle snap back ... Looking at the last pic you posted seems like you got an almost 90° angle where the cable leaves the metal tubes near the controls. That might be your problem ... Maybe swing those metal guides around towards the tank and support your throttle cables and try again?

When I messed with my bars, I had to reroute the throttle cables twice before the throttle snapped back over the whole range of movement of the handle bars.

In the third pic, it doesn't look like the barrel on the cable end is seated properly. Not sure if that would cause the issue, but might want to check it out.

Thanks. I figured they are run correctly because at the intake i remember which one had spring and at the bars they are different sizes that snap into housing. Along the frame how perfectly do thevcables have to be run?

Been messing around with this a bit myself. Can't really get my head around the cable-adjusters regarding pull/return cables.

But what seems to work for me is to lossen both up. Then thighten the pull-cable till theres no slack in the throttle. Then carefully tighten the return-cable as you try the throttle. Don't know why, but if it's too loose, the throttle won't return, and if it's too tight, same thing...

Leaning more and more towards removing the return-cable...

I agree that these things are fussy. Maybe the cables are too short for your new bars, maybe the tension from the adjusters are not correct, maybe the cable isn't seated right down in the engine area, maybe they should be lubricated, and lastly, maybe you should loosen the whole throttle handle assembly slightly to the right on the bars by about 1/8th inch.

You didn't put any grease under the grip, did you? When i changed my handlebars I thought a little lubricant may help the throttle reset..nope..cause the entire snap-back to fail, had to remove everything and clean all the grease out, now it's fine..
