Default Cam chain shoe at 38,000 miles

This is my outside tensioner shoe at 38,000 miles, the inner one looks just like it. Don't know if it is due to running Amsoil or not but I think it is.

You can't actually see the wear surface in that picture, though.

What year is that? Looks to be the newer hydraulic tensioners.

Wow. A guy I know said that a lot of it has to do with how you ride. Example is that if you ride hard they wear quicker which seems to make sense in some sort of way. I did mine at 40K and they had a lot more wear than that.

Pull it back away from the chain and pin it open and then take a picture. My outer one showed some wear that I thought wasn't that bad. When I opened it up I found a crack on the inside of the shoe, all the way down to the base of the plastic material.

Did you peal it back to look for cracks or to measure wear?
